5 of the Best Plant Based Protein Powders

Protein Powders is a fast, healthy and easy alternative to a meal. Most Protein Powders are made from Whey, which for most people have some undesirable digestive effects. Not only is Plant-Based Protein Powders easier on the stomach, but it is also as easy and convenient as their whey counterpart. Most plant-based powders have a chalky taste to some degree, I have tried to describe each ones taste, but I appreciate that taste is very subjective.

This is one of the top plant-based powders on the market. It is sugar, soy and gluten-free, and suitable for men, women and kids. It does come with a drawback, the taste. It is not the best tasting plant-based protein powder on the market and is best used as part of a smoothie recipe.

Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard

It is aimed at active adults and is 100% plant-based. It does contain Stevia Leaf extract and if you don't mind stevia, it is better suited for a sweet tooth. If you don't like sweet things or stevia, one of the others may be better suited for you.

This is one of the best tasting plant-based protein powders out there. It is very easy to mix and contains a recovery formula also. It is a great post-workout drink and comes in 30g scoops rather than 24g like most others. Which makes it perfect if you are following the 30grms of protein within 30 minutes of waking up protocol.

Purely Inspired Organic

The biggest drawback for this one is that it comes in servings of 20g, which is less than all the others in this review. As far as taste, it is somewhere in the middle. Not very sweet, but not too chalky either which is a trait of most plant-based protein powders. If the mixing directions are followed it does mix easy enough in a hand shaker.

Vegansmart Plant-Based Vegan Protein Powder

Vegansmart is also a 20g per serving powder, the taste leans a bit more to the sweeter side without being overpowering. Although it does mix fairly well in a hand shaker, it is better using a blender.
