Get your Body Confidence back
Updated: Mar 9, 2021
Getting body confidence is a tricky subject. The reason is that what is required to feel body confident is very subjective from person to person. What makes it even trickier is that some people are extremely body confident regardless of what others think.
I once had the privilege to visit the beaches in Barcelona, Spain. It was an eye-opener as walking on the beach nude is quite acceptable, just to be clear I did not participate. After I processed that, what I started noticing is that most of the people choosing to be nude on the beach were very overweight and even obese. Although medically unhealthy they had the body confidence to walk around naked amongst thousands of other people. I am not going to explore this area any further it is just to illustrate my point that body confidence is subjective to each and every individual.
Most people that feel conscious about their bodies, know what they want. For 1 person it might be to lose 30kg, for another it might be gaining 10kg and yet another it would be six or eight pack abs and for some, it may be acne or skin discolouration. Whatever result we want to improve our body confidence it may feel unobtainable. It feels this way because to get there means change, and most of the time not only one change but several changes. It also requires education, you will need to educate yourself on a number of areas around nutrition and exercise. Which can and often is very overwhelming depending on how much you know already.
The basics are really simple, as long as you consume food with the following characteristics you will be fine.
Low Calories.
High Nutrition like vitamins, minerals and other micronutrients.
The right ratio of Fats, Carbs and Proteins.
Don't drink any calories.
It looks simple at first glance, but when you delve deeper you quickly discover that education is important. Because low-Calorie meal means different things for different people. And getting the ratio of carbs, fats and proteins just right are also not as easy as it looks.
The Shortcuts
Is there not always a shortcut, to bypass the necessary hours it takes to educate yourself.
